Change your family doctor and register with Dr. Madzharovi

If you are moving, want to change your current GP, or are looking for a family doctor in Plovdiv or Parvomay, the process at Dr. Madzharovi is clear and quick. We work with the Bulgarian NHIF and accept patients at three offices: Debar, Parvomay Hospital, and UMHAT Pulmed.

When can I switch?

Twice a year - June and December. For patients from another region, temporary registration is available every month.

What documents?

ID card and health insurance booklet (if available). For children, a birth certificate.

Is it free?

Registration and NHIF-covered visits are free when your health insurance contributions are active.

Steps to change your family doctor

    Choose an office and doctor

    Decide whether you prefer Parvomay (Debar or MBAL) or Plovdiv (UMHAT Pulmed). Check the schedule and team to choose a convenient location.

    Book an initial appointment

    Book online via SuperDoc or DocUp in under a minute, or call the office directly.

  3. 3

    Bring the required documents

    Bring your ID card and health insurance booklet. For children, bring a birth certificate. If you do not have a booklet, we will guide you on what to do.

    Complete the registration form

    At the office, our reception staff will help you complete the GP change form. You do not need to visit the RHIF in person.

  5. 5

    Confirm the registration

    After we submit the data to the NHIF, your registration becomes effective on the first day of the following month. Until then, you can use our services as a temporarily registered patient if needed.

Frequently asked questions about changing your GP

When can I change my family doctor?
Under the Bulgarian NHIF, you can change your GP during two registration windows - 1-30 June and 1-31 December. If you are moving from another region, we can also arrange temporary registration every month.
What documents do I need to change my GP?
Please bring your ID card and your health insurance booklet (if you have one). For children, a birth certificate is required. Our reception staff will help you fill in the registration form on site.
Can I register if I am from another region?
Yes. If you have valid health insurance, we can process a temporary registration every month, regardless of the June and December windows.
